Denver Nuggets: Nikola Jokic’s Career Gets Stunning Kendrick Perkins Prediction
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Nikola Jokic is still just 29 years old but the Denver Nuggets star center already has three NBA Most Valuable Player awards and an NBA ring.

It’s not crazy to believe that he could win another title this season with the Nuggets, given how well they are playing in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. In the Nuggets’ last game, Jokic led his team to a 112-97 win at home in Game 5 of their second-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves last Tuesday.

Following his incredible performance in that contest, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins said that he believes that the Serbian behemoth will soon be widely considered as among the 10 best players to ever play basketball –if he wins it all with Denver this year.

Nikola Jokic is already the most skilled center we’ve ever seen touch the damn basketball.”

Denver Nuggets Big Man Nikola Jokic Has Been a One-Man Wrecking Machine Against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2024 Playoffs

Jokic is straight up manhandling the Timberwolves in the second round. Minnesota isn’t thin in the frontcourt. It has Karl-Anthony Towns and newly minted Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.

But both Timberwolves giants don’t seem to have an answer to Jokic, who erupted for 40 points on 15/22 shooting from the floor in Game 5. Jokic also dropped 13 dimes with zero turnovers. Just incredible.

After five games in the Timberwolves series, Jokic has averaged 29.4 points on 53.8 percent shooting from the field.

His uncanny ability to find the bucket even on tough angles has been so painful to watch for the Timberwolves and their fans, who will get to see him go to work again this Thursday when the Nuggets look to finish the series. He is also grabbing 10.4 rebounds and dishing out 9.2 assists per game in the series.

But even if the Nuggets fall short of their goal to repeat as champions this season, Jokic has already established himself as an all-time great. Plus, he’s still in his prime, so he and the Nuggets should be able to seriously contend for more NBA titles in years to come. Jokic is under contract with the Nuggets until the end of the 2027-28 NBA season.
