The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2024 NFL Draft class has been lauded as one of the strongest in the league, and that praise was echoed by a current NFL executive.
The Steelers have historically won along both lines of scrimmage, and have an organizational profile of building around physical players, which seemed to once again be a focus of general manager Omar Khan throughout draft weekend.
In addition to adding three offensive linemen in front of a revamped quarterback room, Pittsburgh also dropped a deep-threat receiver with the build of a prototypical red-zone target in Washington’s Roman Wilson and then spent much of Saturday adding depth at all three levels of the defense.
At least one current NFL executive believes the Steelers had one of the two strongest draft classes in the league.
“After what they did this weekend,” the Executive tells me. “Pittsburgh is going to be very, very physical on offense. I look for them to utilize Fields’ dual-threat abilities even more now, perhaps in tandem with Russell Wilson.”
Whoever lines up behind center for the Steelers this season, and there’s a legitimate chance both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields see extended playing time, they’ll have a dramatically upgraded offensive line in front of them and some real star power at receiver at their disposal.
